This report presents the case of a rehabilitation inpatient with poor glycemic control and poor nutrition-related knowledge. Clinical Western medicine is used to treat diabetes mellitus (DM); however, the patient who had a nutrition-related knowledge deficit cannot effectively control blood sugar (BS). Thus, nutrition knowledge and skills are needed to improve BS. However, the patient verbalized unwillingness or disinterest in learning, so BS control was extremely poor. A simple meal plan, called the “diabetes plate method,” was modified to fit the nutritional guidelines of the American Diabetes Association and the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics, which can be used as a guide to healthy eating in patients with DM. |

一名血糖控制差且營養相關知識缺乏的復健科住院患者個案報告。臨床西醫使用藥物治療糖尿病,但面對營養相關知識缺乏的患者仍無法有效控制血糖,須善用營養學知識與技巧來改善血糖。然而此個案無意願學習與運用相關資訊,因此血糖控制極差。一個簡單的膳食計劃,稱為「糖尿病餐盤」經過修改以符合美國糖尿病協會和營養與飲食學會的營養指南,可用作糖尿病患者健康飲食的指南。 |
