The paper explores the ideas, practices, and influences of Michael J. Sandel's open education and infers some implications for education. Sandel's course of "Justice" has influenced millions of people, received awards, and can serve as a model. Through literature review and participation in Sandel's online course, the study analyzes the course readings, videos, Sandel's works, and related arguments. The findings are as follows: The ideas of Sandel's open education are discontented with the liberal's value vacancy and proclaiming the debate of the big questions in public, the practices are creating the course website of "Justice" and spreading it in MOOCs, and the influences are creating a world-class education free and for all and inspiring the teachers and students. Five implications are: One's ideals must guide the direction of practice, a successful traditional course with the features of open education could form a successful open educational course, open education can be used to amplify a teacher's influence, the one-size-fit-all model should be replaced with blended models, and opening a teacher's course online can fulfill the social responsibility of intellectuals.
