本研究旨在透過文獻資料分析以及經銷商與使用者之訪談，瞭解液晶顯示器的發展背景與歷程、發展現況、對電腦使用者之影響與其未來發展方向，研究結果做爲使用者與廠商之參考。結果發現，對使用者之影響爲：1.電腦使用時間增長2.購買電腦的預算增加3.電腦週邊設備換新4.計畫購買液晶電視；LCD未來發展勢爲：1.大型化－以滿足多媒體應用需求，因應數位電視時代來臨2.輕量化－以減輕重量，方便攜帶3.高品質化－以廣視角、高亮度、高對比等提昇影像品質。

This research is to study the background and process about the development of LCD and to understand how update LCDs are used at present, and then this research is moved on to explore what influences the development will bring to users and figure out what LCD will be in the future. This research is made to be references for users and manufacturers. Through analyzing lots of materials from literature and interviewing manufacturers and users, we found the influences as the following, 1. People spend more time on computers. 2. People increase their budgets on computers. 3. People renew the surrounding facilities of computers. 4. People plan to buy LCD televisions. Moreover, the future trend of LCD's development we infer is concluded as the following, 1. LCD will be enlarged to fulfill the application of multimedia and to cope with the coming of digital televisions. 2. LCD will be lightened to make it easy to carry. 3. It should be with spacious angles, high luminance and high contrast in order to get the best quality of image.
