本研究針對行動虛擬社群進行探討，分析傳播科技在行動通訊上的支援現況，並基於傳播科技需求，提出以網際網路爲骨幹與手攜行動上網設施所組成的實踐系統，文中具體對行動虛擬社群與行動網際網路兩子題進行探討與分析，進而據以結論行動虛擬社群的傳播科技需求：“手攜行動上網設施”。

Traditional virtual communities use desktop or notebook computers for communication. The emergence of the mobile Internet and Internet-enabled mobile handheld devices such as smart cellular phones has introduced new communities and has the existing communities reach new members or topics. This article discusses the mobile technologies for the virtual communities. Two themes, ”The communities affected by mobile technologies” and ”The mobile Internet”, were discussed for establishing conclusion of ”Internet-enabled mobile handheld devices”.
