本文擬依據當前台灣中小學設計教育之特性及其問題之理解,闡釋中小學設計教育之取向,並且針對當前九年一貫教育目標,分析中小學設計教育之功能,進而據以提供有助於台灣中小學設計教育困境紓解之建議。本文首先分析台灣中小學設計教育之特性與問題,其次應用國外藝術與設計教育理論,闡釋台灣中小學設計課程與教學之取向,以兒童中心、學科本位、創造性問題解決、視覺文化等取向之藝術教育理論融合於設計教育理論加以闡釋;然後,探究九年一貫課程目標與「藝術與人文」領域基本能力指標之關係,並分析設計教育在達成九年一貫課程目標之功能,進而呈顯設計教育在九年一貫課程之角色與不可取代之重要性。

英文摘要

Based on the illumination of the characteristics and problems of recent Taiwan school design education, the article attempts to interpret the orientations of Taiwan school design education and to analyze the functions of design education. In achieving to the goals of recent Grade 1-9 Curriculum in Taiwan. Specially, the first part deals with the issues of the characteristics and problems of design education in elementary and secondary schools in Taiwan. The second part applies the western theories on art and design education to the interpretation of the orientations of design curriculum and instruction in the elementary and secondary schools in Taiwan. These orientations consists of ”child-centered design education”, ”discipline-based design education”, ”creative-problem-solving design education”, and ”visual-culture design education” The theories of art education are integrated into the design education theories and to interpret the above-mentioned orientations. The third part describes the relationships between the ten major goals of the Grade 1-9 Curriculum and the basic abilities required in the domain of ”Art and Humanity”. It also analyzes the reasons why the functions of design education could achieve the goals of the Grade 1-9 Curriculum, and hence to indicate the importance of design education in the Grade 1-9 Curriculum, and to reveal the indispensable role of design education. Finally, the article provides suggestions concerning the practice and research of school design education in Taiwan.
