台灣玉石在民國六十年代台灣經濟發展起飛期間，曾經擔任十分重要的產業角色，但隨著開採成本的上升，與不當的爆破開採，台灣閃玉的風光短短十多年就結束了。現今寶玉石業者各自小規模經營，缺乏整合及有系統的推廣，導致流於價格競爭，為了低價促銷，業者也以大陸代工方式降低成本，但這也使得生產技術流失、消費者購買意願降低。隨著大陸觀光客增加、台灣觀光產業也慢慢恢復生機，如何讓傳統寶玉石業重新建立新形象，並能配合旅遊和藝品等相關行業，建立長期穩定的服務和品質機制，讓觀光在國內及國際市場能藉此接軌並永續穩定經營下去，因此如何讓台灣玉石產業結合觀光休閒產業以達雙贏策略是很值得探討的議題。

Taiwan jade had served as a very important role in the take-off of the industry of Taiwan economic development in the 1970's, but with the rising cost of mining, and improper blasting, the Taiwan jade scenery just ten years. Nowadays the gem dealers leading to price competition, manufacturers have to reduce costs througt OEM way by mainland china, but it also makes the loss of production technology, and consumers will reduce. As the mainland tourists increases, how to make traditional jade stone to reestablish a new image, and can be combined with tourism. The establishment of long-term and stable service to keep stability in business is very importance, so how to make Taiwan jade industry and the tourism industry to reach win-win is worth exploring topics
