肌肉損傷會減損代謝功能,而硫鹽化脫氫異雄固酮(dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate, DHEA-S)具調節代謝功能的能力且被認為與組織修復有密切關係,然對於年輕運動選手訓練期間肌肉損傷和代謝適能的影響並不清楚,本研究欲探討不同DHEA-S濃度之年輕運動選手於訓練期間組織損傷程度和代謝適能之差異。本研究徵召15名年輕網球選手(19.5±0.3歲,BMI=21.7±0.5公斤/公尺^2),並依據所有選手空腹時DHEA-S濃度之平均值,分為高DHEA-S和低DHEA-S組;本研究進行之量測項目包括肥胖指標(BMI、腰圍和腰臀圍比)、代謝指標(葡萄糖和胰島素曲線下面積)和空腹時DHEA-S濃度、肌肉損傷指標(肌酸激脢和肌紅素)以及發炎指標(TNF-α和IL-6)。結果發現正值訓練期間的網球選手的肌酸激脢濃度為577.7±402.1mg/dl高於正常值;高DHEA-S組的腰圍和腰臀圍比顯著高於低DHEA-S組,其葡萄糖耐受度測試中第90分鐘之血糖和胰島素濃度均低於低DHEA-S組,而肌肉損傷指標、代謝指標和發炎指標則無顯著差異。本研究結果顯示DHEA-S雖對於肌肉損傷之修復未有顯著效果,然仍具有促進網球選手於訓練期間代謝適能調節的趨勢。

Muscle damage would impair metabolic function. Dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEA-S) had the ability of regulating metabolic function and was regarded as correlating to aging; however, unclear effect on muscle damage and metabolic fitness for young sports players during training. This study was to investigate the difference of the changes in muscle damage and metabolic fitness between the young tennis players with different levels of DHEA-S during intense training. Fifteen young tennis players (age= 19.5±0.3, BMI= 21.7±0.5m/kg^2) were recruited and grouped into high DHEA-S and low DHEA-S by mean fasting DHEA-S level from all players. Measurements included obesity measures (BMI, waist circumference and WHR), metabolic index (glucose and insulin area under curve), fasting DHEA-S, the index as muscle damage (creatine kinase and myoglobin) and inflammatory factors (TNF-α and IL-6). The results showed that the level of creatine kinase was 577.7±402.1mg/dl higher than normal range for young tennis players during training. Significantly high waist circumference and WHR was noted for the high DHEAS group than low DHEA-S group and the former group had lower glucose and insulin levels at the 90th minute during OGTT. No significant differences were noted in the index as muscle damage, metabolic fitness and inflammatory factors. This study demonstrated that DHEA-S tended to improve metabolic fitness of young tennis players during intense training even though had no significant effect on muscle repair.
