The purpose of this study was to assess the effects of Wii sports on coordination and flexibility of female older adults. 24 female older adults were randomly divided into two groups, Wii group (65.17 ± 2.29 years) and Sedentary group (68.75 ± 2.05 years), After 6 weeks of Wii training can turning, is as a test of hand-eye coordination and extending hand as a test of upper extremity flexibility. Then we used to SPSS for Windows 12.0 as the statistical software package for data analysis. The statistical method is independent t test. The significant level sets at α =. 05. The statistical analysis showed. (1) coordination: there is significant difference in dominant and non-dominant hand between with the Wii group and Sedentary group (p <.05); (2) There is no significant difference in flexibility in dominant hand between Wii Group and Sedentary (p > .05). There is significant difference in non-dominant hand between Wii group and Sedentary group (p < .05). The results of this study found that Wii sport game to female older adult has significant progress in the coordination. In flexibility, we could find the movement of the upper limb movement significantly extending. These movements are rarely last a long time in daily life. That is the reason to enhance flexibility. Therefore, the conclusions of this study are that 6-week course of Wii intervention maybe can to improve the coordination and flexibility.
