研究目的:為瞭解桃園縣男性警察人員身體質量指數(BMI)現況,並探索不同警勤服務單位與年齡層是否影響身體質量指數的分佈。研究方法:以桃園縣現職男性警察人員共計3,300名為研究對象,分別接受身高、體重測量及調查年齡、警勤服務單位等相關資料,以SPSS 17.0統計軟體進行描述性統計及單因子變異數分析等。研究結果:一、在警勤務區的年齡分布上,以桃園分局(34.12 ± 7.90 歲)、蘆竹分局的(34.30 ± 7.55歲)平均年齡較輕。二、比較各警勤務區身體質量指數平均值,以中壢分局(26.88 ± 3.07 kg/m^2)較高,保安隊(25.08 ± 2.86 kg/m^2)龜山分局(25.13 ± 3.78 kg/m^2)、交通隊(25.17 ± 3.15 kg/m^2)、蘆竹分局(25.17 ± 3.19 kg/m^2)、大園分局(25.24 ± 3.30 kg/m^2)等較低,但平均數值仍超出國人標準。三、桃園縣警察人員的身體質量指數,有隨年齡增加而上升的趨勢,年齡愈大身體質量指數也愈大,其中21-25歲組(24.38 ± 3.41 kg/m^2)及26-30歲組(24.57 ± 3.25 kg/m^2)明顯低於其他各年齡層,年長的員警們需要更注重生活作息,以維持健康生活型態。研究結論:一、桃園縣警察人員各警勤服務單位的年齡分布上有差異,呈現出都會區的平均年齡較輕,郊區及特殊勤務需求的單位平均年齡較高。二、身體質量指數隨各警勤服務單位而有不同,在本研究中以中壢分局的身體質量指數較高。三、桃園縣男性警察人員的身體質量指數有隨年齡而增加的趨勢,與全國同年齡層身體質量指數常模做比較評估,均屬於『稍重』的等級。

Research Purpose: This research were to understand the body mass index of male police officers in Taoyuan County, and whether different service unit and age will affect the distribution of body mass index. Research Method: Objects of this research were 3300 male police officers in Taoyuan County. Each object took weight and height measurements and fill in related data such as age and service unit. The data gathered is analyzed with SPSS 17.0 statistic software for descriptive statistic and one-way ANOVA. Research Results: 1. Objects from Taoyuan precinct (aged 34.12 ± 7.90 years old) and Lujhu precinct (aged 34.30 ± 7.55 years old) have younger average age among other units. 2. Compared the average BMI measurements among all units, it is higher for objects from Chungli precinct (26.88 ± 3.07 kg/m^2); objects from special police (25.08 ± 2.86 kg/m^2), Kweishan precinct (25.13 ± 3.78 kg/m^2), traffic division (25.17 ± 3.15 kg/m^2), Lujhu precinct (25.17 ± 3.19 kg/m^2) and Dayuan precinct (25.24 ± 3.30 kg/m^2) have lower average BMI measurements, but the average still exceeds the national standard. 3. The age and the BMI is positive correlation, that is, the older the age is, the bigger BMI is. Objects from age group of 21-25 (24.38 ± 3.41 kg/m^2) and 26-30 (24.57 ± 3.25 kg/m^2) have BMI obviously lower than the other age groups. Police aged over 30 needs to pay attention to their life style to keep healthy life form. Conclusion: (1) There are age differences in service units in Taoyuan County. The distribution shows the average age of police officers is younger at urban area, and it is older in suburban area and in special service units. (2) The body mass index differs with service units. This research shows higher BMI measures for objects from Chungli precinct. (3) The body mass index tends to increase with age for police officers in Taoyuan County. Compared with the national BMI module of the same age group, the Taoyuan County police officers are in the ”overweight” level.
