ASP模式之研究議題與方向

21世紀是知識與網路為主軸的新經濟，企業善用資訊科技強化競爭力，以因應未來網路時代的全球競爭，已是刻不容緩的重要議題。台灣企業想功進入電子商務經營模式，最重要的就是結合企業原有核心專長,並運用資訊科技彌補既有缺陷，針對企業本身的核心事業創造獨特的競爭優勢。因此，台灣傳統產業的升級與外移大陸、東南亞的困境，企業e化的方案是好的策略。但資訊技術之建置往往曠日費時，很多企業為了更能專注核心業務的成長，紛紛採行資訊科技委外（Information Technology Outsourcing）的做法。惟資訊科技委外的成本與管理問題相當棘手，故資金規模較不充裕的中小企業，對於大部分的資訊委外只能望門興嘆。而拜網際網路技術的成熟與應用的普及所賜，1998年興起了一種應用軟體服務供應商（Application Service Provider；ASP）的行業，它結合傳統資訊委外以及新興網際網路的特性，客戶只需接受資訊科技的服務而不需要花費建置與維護費用，只需付出租賃或服務的費用。因此，使得各種應用軟體的使用成本大幅降低，為中小企業和資訊委外搭起了一座跨世紀的橋樑。在網路環境下，規模經濟和網路外部性的效果、報酬遞增的情形，都比實體世界更加顯著，也造成網路企業的成長，以及演化出不同於傳統企業的經營模式。本論文的主旨是希望從資訊委外演化至ASP的歷程，分析網際網路應用與ASP研究議題的重要性，並對資訊委外、ASP涉及理論，以及網際網路演進相關研究文獻進行探討。並經由企業個案訪談，找尋台灣中小企業進行e化（e-business）的策略與途徑，以及ASP業者的營運模式分析。最後，經由相關文獻的分析、歸納後，能推導出ASP領域六項研究議題與方向，並且根據一些研究成果，提出ASP領域值得思考與探究的建議。
