Luo Xianglin is the founder of Hakka studies in modern times. His famous masterpiece is Hakka Origin and Flow Examination published in 1933, which regards Hakka as a part of the Chinese nation. This treatise is called The Discourse of Central Plains Hakka, which basically puts Hakka ethnic group into the discussion at the national level. However, it is not difficult to find out the context of his thinking in the National history writing, the relationship between the nation and the people and his views on the research mentioned in The Survival of Nations collected by the Dah Hsian Seetoo Library of National Chengchi University. Therefore, this paper will discuss through The Survival of Nations and explore the research value of Luo's Hakka views in the formation process.
