兩宋時期，大約〈西元九六0年~西元一二七九年〉，在這段時間內，中國的花鳥畫藝術得到空前的發展而進入鼎盛時期。建國之初，設立的規模很大並成為科學考試的一部分的宮廷畫院，畫院的畫風成為左右宋朝繪畫的主要力量，繪畫藝術出現唐代顗後的又一個高峰。宋代繪畫領域的許多變化是前所未有的，由皇家畫院到畫學的興辦，文人畫的興起，都是這個時期的重要美術現象。花鳥畫藝術的主流經過多次轉變，以五代為始至南宋末年，將畫史時期與造成宋代花鳥畫興盛之原因作一分析本文基於宋代畫鳥畫的繪畫風格與西洋繪畫的極簡主義風格，自一九六O年代發展以來，在繪畫領域上，融合西方思想的表現模式，既有東方簡約的美感，又有西方前衛的精神，於是將重點放在探討美學之文化傳承與現代繪畫風格的藝術呈現。
