本文改寫自筆者之碩士學位論文《一個零度的實驗-以舞作《傑宏.貝爾》為例》。本文中,筆者聚焦於編舞家傑宏.貝爾(Jérôme Bel, 1964-)何以能將原先屬於羅蘭.巴特(Roland Barthes, 1915-1980)的文學理論《寫作的零度》(Le Degré Zéro de L'écriture)轉化應用於編舞實踐上。筆者以幾個問題意識進行書寫,包括為何零度、何謂零度、如何零度以及零度的效果為何。於回應以上問題意識中,筆者分別以歷史爬梳法國當代舞蹈史,並簡化原論文相對複雜的舞蹈宏觀結構分析法至「觀念」、「身體」以及「動作」三方面為例,分別論述其零度舞蹈實際應用的樣態以及特點,並且評價零度舞蹈的效果何以能夠促成舞台上與舞台下共同思辨的目標。本文之研究不僅是分析貝爾如何詮釋零度,同時也發現舞作《傑宏.貝爾》(Jérôme Bel, 1995)之零度舞蹈的觀點不僅是本作的重要核心,也延伸至貝爾接續作品。由此,筆者希望藉由此研究作為貝爾未來相關研究的座標。

英文摘要

This article is rewritten according to the master's thesis An Experiment of Degree Zero: A Study of Dance Work Jérôme Bel. In this article, the writer put his focus on how choreographer Jérôme Bel could adapt the literature theory of Le Degré Zéro de L'écriture into the practice of choreograph. The writer tried to unfold the article under several questions in mind, including why degree zero, what is degree zero, how to degree zero and what are the effects of degree zero. To answer these questions, the writer analyzed in different dimensions such as historical review of French contemporary dance and simplified the macro-structural analysis into three parts including concept, body and movement. By doing so, the writer was able to investigate the actual practice and specialties of dance of degree zero and to evaluate how dance of degree zero is capable of making people on the stage and under the stage to contemplate at the same time. In this article, the writer found out that degree zero was not just the core concept of Jérôme Bel but also could be seen in his later dance works. By that, the writer hoped this article could be the coordinate of future research about Jérôme Bel.
