大甲鎮瀾宮每年的媽祖遶境活動,是台灣民間宗教的「盛會」,也是人類非物質文化的重要資產。為何在台將近千間的媽祖廟中,大甲鎮瀾宮既非歷史最悠久,也非廟宇硬體規模最宏偉,而它卻能夠脫穎而出,每年恭迎媽祖鑾駕遶境進香,跨越原有大甲五十三庄,橫跨台中、彰化、雲林及嘉義四個縣市,走329.9公里,沿途受到廣大虔誠的信眾熱烈歡迎。本文將以此調查資料來分析大甲媽遶境時的真實樣貌,既讓數字說話,也重新詮釋數字,解釋信眾心目中大甲媽的圖像,並對大甲媽八天七夜「擴張性」的遶境個案,其背後的宗教與非宗教因素,提出合理的解答。學界首次運用量化調查方法,探索與解析大甲鎮瀾宮遶境的「真實」樣貌。希望對下列問題得到合理的解答:大甲媽祖的信眾有多少?他們的分佈狀況為何?此宗教意義為何?信眾參與遶境的虔誠度有多少?有多少信眾走完八天七夜的遶境?他們抱著什麼樣的心情參與這個盛會?台灣人崇拜神祇的基本心態為「功利」性格,希望神祇給予庇祐,信眾對大甲媽的期待是什麼?他們有無超越原有台灣民間宗教信眾的功利性格?在人神互動時,台灣人為感激媽祖經常奉獻金錢給神明,在遶境期間,信眾捐多少香油錢給媽祖?媽祖帶給大甲鎮瀾宮重大的利益,也創造其周邊的產值,這些直接或間接的利益到底有多少? |

There are thousand Ma-zu temples in Taiwan, Ta-chia Ma-zu temple is just only a small and short history temple. Although Ta-chia Ma-zu temple is a small size temple, but Ma-zu go around her boundary every years, and it is very important ceremony and human non-material cultural resources in this island.Many believers respected and met Ta-chia Ma-zu sedan when her god sedan passed through Tai-chung, Zhang-hua , Yun-lin and Jia-yi. This ceremony liked a carnival, million Ma-zu believers participated Ma-zu go around her boundary many days.In this paper, I will discourse following questions, and try to find answers.1.How many believers they believe in Ta-chia Ma-zu? 2.What's degrees of pious in believers' mind?3.How many believers accompany with Ta-chia Ma-zu sedan through eight days and nights?4.What's kind of the looking forward from Ta-chia Ma-zu in the believers' mind?5.How much money donate to the Ta-chia Ma-zu by the believers in this ceremony? |
