決定棒球運動勝負的最重要因素之一就是打擊。打擊者必須根據投手所投出的球在短時間內對球路做出迅速的反應與判斷，在這段時間內，打擊者必須判斷對方球的速度、球路而調整自己打擊的時機、力量與打法。美國大聯盟三百名打者中的揮棒時間球由投手投出後至打擊者打到球的平均時間為0.54秒，而揮棒時間為0.28秒，而優秀選手如王貞治的揮棒時間為0.21-0.22秒，因此有較短的動作時間即代表有較長的反應時間，有較長的反應時間就能對來球做充分的判斷，以減少揮空棒的機會，而美國職棒選手的打擊率與揮棒時間的關係中，打擊率不到三成的美國職棒選手，平均下來需要有較長的動作時間以及較短的決策時間，而打擊率超過三成的優秀打中，通常有較短的動作時間與較長的決策時間。

The one of most important factor to decide game's win or lose is batting. Batter must to determine how pitcher throw the ball in a short time. The batter have to determine that pitcher's ball about it is speed and direction then adjust the way of batting. Batting action is combined by body action,arm action and thigh action then operate the body rotate speed, joint angle and core displacement. The factor to effect batting are many. The batting movement time and reaction time both are important factors. This study to collect about batting movement time and reaction time study to analyze. To analyze MLB 300 batters. The ball from pitcher to catcher average time is 0.54sec. The batter's swing time about 0.28sec. the excellent batter just like Zhen-Zhi Wang about 0.21-0.22sec. you have shorter movement time, the longer reaction time you have. If you have longer reaction time that you can determine how ball will come,to reduce strike out of probability. The study show MLB batter if batting average under 0.300, he needs longer movement time and shorter reaction time. if the batter want to add his batting average, he have to reduce movement time.
