胡蘭成近年來被越來越多的人知道，人們對他的所作所為毀譽不一，其生命故事也因神秘複雜而引起人們的興趣。本文從心理傳記學的角度淺析他備受爭議的原因，也即他的矛盾性格。具體從反叛與規矩、深情與無情、真實與虛偽、淡泊與功利四個方面談及，以此管窺胡蘭成矛盾性格表層之下的處世態度，並指出這是一窺其生命故事的重要切入點。然後從家庭環境、文化思想、時代背景和逃亡經歷等多重角度，淺析矛盾性格形成的緣由，揭示胡蘭成獨特的性格源自的種種特殊的成因。使用心理傳記學的方式，使得本文不同於常見的文藝學對胡蘭成的研究，本文更客觀、全面地講述了胡蘭成的生命故事，對當前的胡蘭成研究起到了補充深化的作用。

In recent years, Mr. Hu Lancheng has been known to the public greatly who has viewed and evaluated what he had done in his lifetime positively and negatively. Thus, the mystery of his life stories has brought the interests of many persons to discover. In the viewpoints of psychobiography, this essay is to analyze the reasons that contributes his controversy in the public, that's to say his contradictory characteristics. It is divided into groups as ＂Rebellion＂ and ＂Rules,＂ ＂Passion＂ and ＂Apathy,＂ ＂Truth＂ and ＂Dishonesty＂ and ＂Social top rank＂ and ＂Social Reclusion,＂ with which the life attitude of Mr. Hu Lancheng could be play-backed, which is also an important starting point to get a glimpse of his life stories. It is furtherly analyzed from the viewpoints of family background, parents-children relationships, traditional Chinese opera, pluralistic thinking, social background and life experiences while fleeing, which discovers the contributes of his unique characteristics. This essay is different from the common literature that focus on Mr. Hu Lancheng in the method of Psychobiography, which has illustrated Mr. Hu Lancheng's life stories objectively and thoroughly that compensate and deepen the research and study of Mr. Hu Lancheng.
