Variable topological structure of mechanism allows the mechanism to adapt to changing circumstances or functional requirements in the working process. Research on variable topology mechanism has been one important direction of mechanical development. A clamping unit that changes its topological structure by locking part of its actuated joints in the working process is studied based on the position and orientation characteristic (POC) set. This paper presents the topological structure of mechanism is changed to accommodate changed circumstances and functional requirements. |
