In this paper, the curve fitting method is applied to the junction between two linear segments. Three different curve fitting methods are introduced. It is shown that the fitted curve can have tangent and curvature continuity with B-spline and Bézier curve fitting, but circular fitting cannot. However, the circular fitting can have smaller curvature as compared to the other two methods under the given tolerance. It is found that the curve fitting can have smoother trajectory and better dynamic behavior. |
