In order to widen the application of deployable structures, the deployed surfaces need to be enriched to improve their adaptations. In this paper, a deployable Bennett network with one DOF is built starting from a Bennett linkage and its extended bars. According to kinematical analysis, the symmetrical properties of configuration are found. Positions of Bennett linkages in the network with the greatest risk to generate interference are determined by analysing the relationship among kinematic variables of all Bennett linkages. The network with equilateral Bennett linkage forms a saddle surface. A physical model with 49 Bennett linkages is made to demonstrate the deployable process. |
