The papers deals with the kinematic analysis of a particular class of mechanisms, seldom studied in mechanisms technical literature, namely the forth class mechanisms, according to Assur-Artobolevsky classification. It is shown that the difficulties in mechanisms study increases with the class of them. A method for reducing the mechanism class consists in considering the other element as input element/link instead the real one. On this way the transmission function can be computed easier. The proposed method reduces the mechanism class from four to three, more facile to study its kinematics.
