The continuous growth in the world population generates the increase in the electrical energy demand and consumption. Meanwhile, the pollution and the limited reserves of fossil fuels impose the development and the implementation of electricity production technologies based on renewables. In this context, solar energy use represents one of the most promising, available and reliable solution. The solar energy conversion in electricity for remote area applications, for different functionalities imposes the design and implementation of transportable and stand-alone PV systems. The paper evaluates the available solutions and concepts for stand-alone deployable PV arrays. The research is focused on formulating a set of design criteria through constructive and functional design quality requirements. Based on this formulation two design concepts for mobile, efficient solutions of deployable stand-alone PV arrays are proposed opening new paths in the further development research on these systems. |
