In general, the error of machine tool cutting process could be generated due to thermal deformation, which has scale range from 40% to 70%. Hence, thermal behavior of machine tools can be used as a significant reference to determine accuracy and stability. In this paper, the cooling fluid is proposed in order to reduce thermal error by conducting heat exchange for heat produced by dynamic feed of machine tool. The Finite Element Method (FEM) is adopted for simulating the optimal cooling channels and conditions, as well as the heat source cooling control with the demand of ensuring the average temperature variation of structure is under ± 0.5℃ threshold. |
