This study aims to investigate the impact of the Da'anxi Water Pipe Bridge project on the stream's aquatic ecology and proposes Nature-based Solutions (NbS) tailored to the natural conditions. Utilizing the public engineering ecological checklist process, the study develops four ecological conservation strategies: avoidance, reduction, mitigation, and compensation. Spatial analysis, specifically Kriging, is used to evaluate changes in fish ecology resources before, during, and after the project. The findings indicate that the post-construction recovery of fish ecology is favorable following the implementation of ecological conservation strategies derived from the ecological checklist. This underscores the vital role of incorporating ecological checklists in mitigating the project's ecological impact and enhancing biodiversity conservation. Additionally, the paper delves into the definition, principles, categories, and challenges of NbS, highlighting that NbS represents a synergistic approach with natural ecosystems. This approach addresses societal challenges such as climate change while simultaneously yielding benefits for human well-being and biodiversity.
