The Concept of Leisure is one of the existing cultures of human and also a topic of concern in recent years from which the Leisure Education was derived. Most of the current studies on Leisure Education start from the practices, but its theoretical and philosophical foundation arouses less concern. As a result, the study discussed the theoretical foundation from the Confucian perspective based on Wang Pang-Hsiung's comments, aiming to explore the connotation and the educational significance of Leisure Education. In summary, the study indicated that leisure activities are required by and meaningful for both mind and body, and the rich cultural contents have to be inherited, developed and spread by education. The Confucianism has formed a moral foundation for leisure activities to clarify their educational significance and value. It also reminds the planners to create activities with a growing power that makes people positive and virtuous. The study also mentioned the roles of teachers and their effects in leisure activities, namely, to instruct the leisure skills, and to build a model for students to follow. Finally, a conclusion based on an overall consideration was given to review the discussing context, provide suggestions for further studies and enrich the theoretical foundation of Leisure Education.
