4-萜品醇(4-Terpineol)在95°～98°C之溫度下作空氣氧化結果，得到carvacrol (A) ，1β, 2β-epoxy-p-menthan-4β-ol (B)，1α, 2α-epoxy-p-menthan-4β-ol(C)，p-menth-2-ene-1α，4β-diol (D)，p-menth-1-ene-4β, 6α-diol (E)，p-menthane-1α, 2β, 4β-triol (F)，p-menth-2-ene-1β, 4β-diol (G)，2-endo-hydroxy-1, 4-cineole (I)，p-menth-I-ene-4β, 6β-diol (J) 及另外四種醇類化合物。

4-Terpineol was oxidized by air at 95~98°C for 32 hrs. The reaction mixtures were treated with Na_2SO_3 solution, separated and purified by column chromatographic and gas chromatographic methods. Thirteen products, carvacrol (A), 1β, 2β-epoxy-p-menthan-4β-ol (B),1α, 2α-epoxy-p-menthan-4β-ol(C),p-menth-2-ene-1α,4β-diol (D),p-menth-1-ene-4β, 6α-diol (E),p-menthane-1α, 2β, 4β-triol (F),p-menth-2-ene-1β, 4β-diol (G),2-endo-hydroxy-1, 4-cineole (I), p-menth-I-ene-4β, 6β-diol (J) and other four unidentified alcoholic compounds were obtained.
