對式(一)所代表的反應物經n個連續(consecutive)中間物(intermediates)變成生成物的反應系統進行分析,探討由R變成P的實驗活化能與各個基元反應的反應活化能的關係:(方程式略)若此類型的反應系統中,X_i的能量都比反應物R小,則X_i在經過一個誘導期後,均會到達穩定狀態。利用穩定狀態假設和數學的導演得知,其反應的實驗活化能為反應過程中能量的最高點與反應物的能量差。若有的中間物能量比反應物低,雖然已不能利用穩定狀態的假設,但實驗的活化能,仍可用能量隨反應座標的圖形估計出來。

英文摘要

The apparent activational energy for the formation of product P from reactant R through the following consecutive reaction mechanism has been studied: (The equation is abbreviated.)In the cases that X_i's are unstable intermediates, steady state approximation may be applied on these intermediates. According to a mathematic derivation, the apparent energy of this reaction is the energy difference between the transition state of the highest energy and the reactant. In the cases when some intermediates have energy less than the reactant, the apparent activational energy may be also figured out from the energy profile of the reaction coordination.
