本研究目的在探討中部地區監獄50 歲以上之男、女受刑人健康狀況、社會支持與憂鬱之間相關性。採用社會支持量表、台灣人憂鬱問卷以立意抽樣方式，參與問卷填答受刑人500 人，計有效問卷465 份問卷回收率達到93%，研究結果顯示中高齡受刑人健康狀況，以自覺健康狀況「普通」者居多，罹患慢性疾病者佔62.6％；社會支持以家人支持得分最高（平均數4.180±0.747）；其憂鬱平均得分為10.151（±10.403）屬於情緒起伏不定狀態，情緒陷入低潮佔10.97％、高憂鬱傾向佔5.38％；而社會支持與憂鬱成負相關。至於，中高齡受刑人之憂鬱預測因子，以罹慢性疾病數、自覺健康狀況、社會支持、性別、70 歲以上者以及喪偶者較具有預測力，並以罹慢性疾病數最具預測力。本研究結果可供監獄管理之參考。

This study aims to investigate the correlation of health status, social support and depression of male and female inmates aged over 50 in the central prison. The social support scale and Taiwanese depression scale were used in this study. The 500 questionnaires were delivered and 465 valid questionnaires, 93% response rate, were collected. The results showed that the health status of elderly inmates, were normal, 62.6% of them suffering from chronic diseases. The family members’ support was the highest score (mean 4.180 ± 0.747) in the social support aspects. The average depression score was 10.151 (± 10.403) showing the emotional status was unstable. The emotional downturn inmates accounted for 10.97% and the high depressive tendency accounted for 5.38%. The social support was negatively correlated with depression. The predictors of depression included multiple chronic diseases, perceived health status, social support, gender, more than 70 years old, widowed. The multiple chronic diseases were the most predictive power. The results can provide the related prison authorities for reference.
