前縱膈腔是最常見的生殖腺外生殖細胞瘤(extragonodal germ cell tumor, EGCTs) 原發部位。臨床症狀可能有胸悶、咳嗽、喘、阻塞性肺炎、體重減輕、上腔靜脈症候群、發燒、噁心等。依據細胞型態及分泌之腫瘤指標又可分為精原性(seminomataous, germinomatous)和非精原性(non-seminomatous ) 。治療依據腫瘤分型有所不同，以手術切除及化學治療為主，輔以放射治療、血液幹細胞移植等。本病例為一位37歲男性，經確診前縱膈腔精原細胞瘤後，接受化學治療及局部放射治療。
