溴丙烷自2007年美國政府公告為合法使用於金屬清洗、電子產品清洗及精密儀器清洗，用來替代破壞臭氧層物質包括三氯乙烷和氯氟烴碳化物的新興溶劑；近年來，國內使用溴丙烷亦有逐漸增加的趨勢。動物實驗結果顯示，溴丙烷具肝毒性、生殖毒性和神經毒性。臺北榮民總醫院毒藥物諮詢中心於2013年8月份接獲南部醫院諮詢，後續調查發現為國內首例群聚現象的高爾夫球桿頭製造公司多名員工清洗高爾夫球桿頭，因溴丙烷溶劑過量暴露，造成腰部麻木、走路不穩、容易跌倒、雙下肢肌肉痙攣疼痛、頻尿和便秘等症狀，而確定診斷為正溴丙烷造成之神經毒性；本文藉由此群聚中毒事件介紹溴丙烷的中毒特性及暴露危害。
