氣管軟化症可分為先天性及後天性，嬰幼兒氣管軟化多為先天性氣管發育異常或被血管結構壓迫所致，治療方式包括保守治療、正壓呼吸、氣管內支架以及手術，手術方面以主動脈固定術為主流，除了傳統正中開胸、側邊開胸之外，近年來胸腔內視鏡手術也逐漸發展。
