阻塞型睡眠呼吸中止症(obstructive sleep apnea),常好發於男性、肥胖以及顏面結構異常的患者,研究發現二級骨性咬合異常的患者中有較高的比例患有睡眠呼吸中止症及呼吸紊亂指數apnea-hypopnea index(AHIAHI)指數偏高的情況,患者會有白天嗜睡、夜間打鼾、呼吸中斷等症狀,造成罹患心血管疾病的風險上升。但由於睡眠呼吸中止症成因複雜,因此在治療上往往需要跨領域團隊的合作以利病患獲得正確的診斷、減少可能的併發症並恢復良好的生活品質。本文以文獻回顧的方式,簡述目前齒顎矯正醫師在跨團隊治療睡眠打鼾、睡眠呼吸中止症中,臨床上如何協助評估、使用口腔治療器以及進行齒顎矯正合併正顎手術的臨床治療建議及成效。
