兒童博物館是一種特殊的博物館類型,相對於傳統博物館對物件的重視,它自初始就是為了觸發兒童的學習興趣而成立。經由美國兒童博物館百年發展史的回顧,可了解這個獨特的兒童教育機構與社會文化脈絡的密切互動,除了不斷的受到教養觀、兒童認知發展研究、教育理論、教育政策轉變的影響,亦正面迎向社會變革,積極面對漸興的社區意識,並思索博物館在社會公義應盡的任務。本文以案例研究方式,說明布魯克林兒童博物館如何在1980年代針對周邊人口組成的改變,由兒童、青少年與家庭著手,除將己身資源回饋社區,更廣納居民參與各種活動與事務,成為社區增能的推進器。 |
英文摘要 |
The children's museum is a distinctive museum type. At the very beginning, the children's museums were not built up for the preservation of collection but promotion of children's education. By reviewing the 100 years' development, it is found that the children's museums have been largely affected by social-cultural context, such as concepts of raising child, children psychology, educational theories, educational policies, etc. The children's museums are visitor-centered and social-oriented, and they are often affected by social changes of communities. Since the 1980s, the Brooklyn Children's Museum has supported children, teenagers and families in its neighborhood by holding various activities and programs, which consequently empowered the community residents. |
