In 2018, Taiwan officially became an aged society with the proportion of senior citizens (aged 65 and over) exceeding 14% of the total population. Singapore is also facing the challenges of an aging society. To fulfill the learning needs of the elderly and to secure their cultural rights, especially among disadvantaged groups, the Singaporean government has made great effort to organize educational activities. For example, the National Heritage Board and Youth Corps Singapore joined hands in planning the intergenerational program "Creative Hands Curious Minds" at Peranakan Museum (March 10, 16 and 17, 2018). The aim of this study is to evaluate the "Creative Hands, Curious Minds" sessions on March 16 and 17, 2018 to explore the motives for and appropriateness of this program, as well as to understand the experiences of participants, including senior citizens, youth volunteers and staff members. In this study, mixed-methods were used to collect data. The results revealed that this program not only activated the elderly, but also intensified intergenerational interactions and encouraged the youth to actively participate in society. It also enhanced the value and importance of museums in an aged society. It is suggested that when museums design such programs, consideration be given to dialogue, empowering the elderly and applying gerontological theory. It is hoped that the results of this study will serve as a useful reference for museums to better understand the needs of senior citizens and to build their confidence, particularly among those with cognitive impairment.
