The Singapore Sports Museum was established in 2014. Focusing on the theme of "dreams", its permanent exhibition guides visitors through the history of the national stadium, the development of Singapore's sports programs, and the prospects for Singapore's sports culture. Throughout this permanent exhibition, the old Singapore Stadium is featured as a heritage site that bears the weight of the glorious moments of the nation and individual athletes. It is an embodiment of a large-scale national plan to promote sports, while rationalizing policies that encourage better physical "health" and that lead to the building of a "stronger" Singapore. In this context, sports, through rituals that connect various historical and political moments, becomes a medium for inspiring political, cultural, and national identities.
