本文研究清代臺灣澎湖文石書院山長林豪在教育文化事業上的貢獻。林豪的實踐是一種「在邊緣的邊緣」的實踐,但不排斥「中心」,透過「內地化」的指標也 樂於接受「中心」,也期望有少數的「邊緣」可以躍居「中心」。「邊緣」也逐漸地有一種「土著化」的過程,那是立根於斯土斯民的「在地認同」。林豪「在邊緣的邊緣」實踐,自在又自得,兼具「內地化」與「在地認同」,闡揚儒家道德理想,也積極準備讀書應試,這是「在邊緣的邊緣」最好的實踐方式。 |
英文摘要 |
This study takes as its subject Head Lin Hoa of Wen-Shih College at Penghu, Taiwan, in the Ching Dynasty, to explore his contributions to the development of education and culture. The performance of Lin Hoa can be viewed as a kind of practice "at the margin of a marginalized region." It does not, however, rule out the existence of "the center" and is willing to accept its presence. Also it expects some "margins" to turn into "the center." The "margin" tends to beget a gradual process of "nativization," a "native identity" rooted in the hearts of people of this land. Lin’s practice "at the margin of a marginalized region" proves to be pleasant and rewarding. It combines "inland-ization" and "native identity" in its advocacy of Confucian moral ideals and in its preparation of students for civil service examinations. It is the best example of practice at the margin of a marginalized region. |
