媽祖神轎繞境使用功能設計－以臺中烈美公祠保存的老二媽、聖二媽神轎為對象

臺灣宗教信仰多元化，相關慶典一年到頭都有，特別是南臺灣的王爺信仰與中臺灣的媽祖信仰最熱門。媽祖出巡遶境以神轎作為神明的交通工具，神轎在迎請神明的過程中，扮演重要角色。本研究實地調查慶典活動中的神轎現況，並訪談神轎管理人的實務操作狀況。由於傳統是生活習性上的積累，因而具有務實的性質。遶境活動表現跟地方居民有深刻的歷史淵源。慶典活動提供地方居民展示財富與宗教儀式力量的機會。透過對於臺中市西屯區張廖家族的烈美公祠保存，從清代以來的老二媽、聖二媽兩頂神轎，調查媽祖神轎從清代以來，呼應使用者的需求，逐漸演變為輕便、節省人力的設計概念。

When the goddess Mazu goes out to patrol the territory, the sacred palanquin is used as a means of transportation for the goddess. The paper surveys the design of the goddess' sacred palanquin with emphasizing on the female design traits. The status of the sacred palanquin in the celebration activities is investigated, and the actual operation of the sacred palanquin management is surveyed with interviews. The performance of the territory patrol has deep historical roots with the local residents. The celebrations provide local residents with the opportunity to show the power of wealth during the religious ceremonies. Making use of the sacred palanquins of Old Mazu II and Holy Mazu II, two historical relics preserved by the Zhang Liao family of Xitun District, Taichung City, this paper will be able to study the planning and production of the sacred palanquin with the interpretation of the goddess's image.
