自1999年3月至8月於台灣北部華林地區進行越北絳蠅(Caiusa coomani Seguy)產卵行為觀察及寄主選擇試驗。產卵行為觀察結果顯示,雌蠅產卵時間為清晨5點至8點之間;最多有3隻雌蠅同時產卵於一個樹蛙卵泡上;雌蠅產卵行為序列分為5個步驟:準備、尋找、探測、產卵及清潔,其中產卵過程所需時間最短4分鐘,最長35分鐘。寄主選擇試驗結果顯示,雌蠅主要將卵產於新鮮且未遭寄生的卵泡,腐爛的牛肉及已遭寄生的卵泡未曾吸引雌蠅注意及產卵,而外觀類似卵泡的泡沫狀物質曾吸引雌蠅注意,但未產卵;卵泡主要在蛙胚胎發育早期(Gosner stage 7-8)遭寄生,胚胎發育早期(stage 15-16以前)遭寄生的卵泡,胚胎死亡率均為100%,無蝌蚪孵化,而晚期(stage 17-18)才遭寄生的卵泡,死亡率平均為50%,未遭寄生的卵泡死亡率平均為5.3%;平均一個翡翠樹蛙卵泡內有45.2隻蛆,47.3隻於一個白頷樹蛙卵泡內,卵泡大小與蠅蛆數量無相關性。 |

Oviposition behaviors and host selection of Caiusa coomani Seguy were studied in Hualin, northern Taiwan from March through August 1999. The times of oviposition were from 5 to 8 AM. Up to three flies were found ovipositing on a single rhacophorid foam nest. The oviposition sequence can be divided into five steps: preparing, searching, exploring, ovipositing, and cleaning. It took 4 to 35 min to complete the oviposition procedure on one foam nest. The selection tests showed that female flies oviposited on fresh and unparasitized nests; no oviposition behaviors were observed on decayed beef or infested nests; foam-like objects attracted female flies, but no eggs were laid. Rhacophorid nests were mostly infected at the early embryo development stages (Gosner stage 7-8). The average mortality of embryos was 100% for both stage 7-8 and stage 15-16 infested nests, dropped to 50% for stage 17-18 infested nests, and was 5.3% for non-infested nests. On average there were 45.2 maggots in one nest of Rhacophorus prasinatus and 47.3 maggots per nest of Polypedates meagcephalus. No correlation between the size of nests and the number of maggots was found. |
