This paper proposes four families of new boolean set blends that are C1 continuous everywhere and hence can be used to generate sequential blends for implicit surface modeling. Especially, among them two families have increasing and decreasing blend ranges on level blend surfaces for Zero implicit surface f(x,y,z) ≥0 and the other two have increasing and decreasing blend ranges for Function Representation f(x,y,z) ≥0. Based on these blends, shape control on the shapes of transitions of the subsequent blends of a blend is allowed, and a blend with non-smooth or sharp transition is able to have a smooth subsequent blend. |
