The purpose was to enhance the teaching ability growth of preservice teachers who participated in the digital learning companion project. The researcher used a semi-structured interview method as the primary research tool. The content of the interview included participation background and motivation, teaching ability growth (teaching interaction, course design and teaching material design), and suggestions and feedbacks for the execution unit. The findings of this study were as follows:1. Before the service: Understanding of service content and own needs; 2. During the service: Limitations and benefits of online teaching; 3. During the service: Accumulation of online teaching material's production experience; 4. During the service: Shock and adaptation after actual teaching interaction; 5. After the service: Achievement of self-assessment teaching goals. The suggestions were as follows: 1. Establish a communication and consultation platform for university companions; 2. Add other pairing subjects to make participants able to perform their specialization; 3. Improve the questionnaire on the needs of school children to make the preparation for university companions' teaching more adequate.
