英文摘要

A cooling tower keeps continuous recirculating water flow through itself all the time during operation. Therefore, there is a common misconception that the cooling tower can avoid combustion. But in fact, some of cooling tower components are made of combustible materials, such as polychloride Vinyl (PVC), polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), wood, fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP), and so forth, which might catch fire when exposed to the ignition sources. This article elaborates on a reliable cooling tower fire protection system for reference, which complies with the NFPA 214 fire protection standard and can prevent or extinguish cooling tower fire efficiently.
