1933年董作賓發表〈甲骨文斷代研究例〉，標舉斷代是「今後研究甲骨文字一個新的方案」，全文長達101頁，不易速讀，其中明確建構斷代標準十項，並將甲骨時代劃分五期，影響甲骨斷代工作極為深遠。然該文實草創之作，董氏論述各項標準內涵及其運用，往往語焉不詳，對於斷代標準的建立，似乎並不精準明確，若干說法亦存可商之處。本文針對〈甲骨文斷代研究例〉所揭十項斷代標準內容，逐一進行評析，認為董作賓斷代標準的提出，其價值並不在於提出幾項參考標準，而是如何運用這些參考標準。綜觀董作賓〈甲骨文斷代研究例〉，其標舉十項斷代標準的意義，並非完備甲骨斷代標準架構，而是呈現董氏對甲骨刻辭內容進行全面且細緻的探索成果。其部分章節安排，與斷定甲骨時代並無直接關聯，顯示其撰寫要點，實不以斷代標準的建構為限，董氏更有興趣者，應在商代歷史的核實。

In 1933, Dong Zuobin published the"A Subject research in Period-classification of Oracle Bones of Shang Dynasty", which was considered a new program for studying oracle bones in the future. The full text is 101 pages long and not easy to read quickly. There were ten standards for period-classification defined, and the era of oracle bone is divided into five. It's a very important foundation of studying oracle bones. Even though the author's work is ingenious, Dong's discussions of the connotation and application of standards are often inaccurate. This article attempts to analyze and discuss the ten standards Dong mentioned in his treatise one by one. It is believed that the value of Dong Zuobin's notion is not how many standards are proposed, but how to make use of these standards. It also shows that the main points of Dong's treatise are not limited to the construction of the standard of the period-classification. The more concerned in Dong's treatise is historical informations of Shang Dynasty could be verified by way of Oracle Bones.
