根據世界衛生組織(WHO)不孕症的定義為未避孕一年，仍沒有成功受孕稱之。而年齡在35歲以上的婦女，不孕的定義縮短為未避孕六個月以內，仍沒有成功受孕稱之。不孕症臨床上的因素很多，除了基本的器質性的問題之外，不明原因可以藉由西醫檢查，以及中醫辨證論治不同的體質給予個別治療。過去各代醫家典籍文獻，提示從腎、肝、脾等臟論治不孕，卻獨缺肺臟的論述，由於台灣濕度溫度極高的氣候，加上現在婦女常見的陰虛內熱體質，許多不孕的婦女有外感殘存於肺，導致鬱而化熱，波及腎陰的熱盛津虧證型，茲以本例治療風熱外感殘存，鬱熱於肺，導致腎水津虧不孕之醫案。

Infertility happens when a couple cannot conceive after without the use of birth control for one year. If the women ages reaches 35 or older, time may minimize to half year without birth control. There are many risk factors cause infertility, such as The ability to conceive starts to fall around the age of 32 years, ovulation disorders, problems in the uterus or fallopian tubes, Gyneocology disorders, as well as Male disorder. Meticulous examination is recommended and performed. Traditional Chinese Medicine meridian is also analyzed. Kidney, Spleen, and Liver meridian is highly related to infertility. However, Lung meridian is never mentioned in TCM theory. Taiwan is highly humid country, many women experienced Yin deficiency heat, with external wind heat trapping in lung, which result lack of kiney-yin. A 28-year-old female was married for 5 years with no sign of pregnancy. She denied any systemic disease, however, she suffered from irregular menstruation and dysmenorria. She seeks for TCM intervention, and she was diagnosed as Yin deficiency, blood heat, qi stagnation, by doctor of traditional Chinese medicine. One months after TCM intervention, patient was conceived.
