Trigger asynchrony is a thorny problem found in mechanically ventilated patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Though senior staff can usually provide precise adjustments in face of trigger asynchrony, most clinical practitioners are not experienced enough. The latest adaptive ventilation mode (AVM), which uses similar algorithms to that of Adaptive Support Ventilation (ASV), has two added functions of Auto. Rise. and Auto. Exp. Trig, which aim to increase the synchrony between patients and ventilators. In this case report, it is shown that trigger asynchrony found during weaning in ventilated COPD patients can be improved by using AVM mode.

慢性阻塞性肺疾病（COPD）的機械通氣病人中，吸氣觸發不同步是一個棘手的問題。儘管有資深臨床人通常可以針對吸氣觸發不同步情況提供精確的調整，但是大多數臨床工作者經驗不足。最新的順應性通氣模式（AVM）與順應支持換氣模式（ASV）有相似的理論算法，其並具有兩個附加的自動功能。包括自動吸氣上升和自動吐氣觸發，旨在增加病人和呼吸機之間的同步性。在此病例報告中，表明使用AVM模式能以此特性改善COPD呼吸器病人，呼吸器脫離期間的觸發不同步的問題。
