中文摘要 |
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the association of cardiovascular risk factors to arterial stiffness pulse wave velocity (PWV) among overweight Taiwanese men and to explore which cardiovascular risk factors are most associated with abnormal PWV. A total of 321 men (140 overweight men and 181 obese men) were included in this cross-sectional survey. A structured questionnaire was performed to evaluate lifestyle and disease history. Anthropometric measures were measured using standard method. Plasma choleserol, Triglyceride and Glucose level were measured using Olympus AU 600 by standard method. Non-invasive arterial stiffness measurement were measured using Colin VP-1000 by trained technicians. The mean ages of overweight and obese men were 43.1 and 43.5 years old respectively. PWV were 1508.6 and 1545.1(cm/t) respectively. PWV was positively correlated with SBP, DBP, HR, Cholesterol, TG and glucose level (r=0.17~0.56, all p<0.01). In multiple regression analyses, after adjusting for the potential confounders, SBP, cholesterol and glucose were still significantly associated with PWV. Using multiple logistic regression analyses, only SBP and glucose were significantly associated with abnormal PWV (OR=1.05 and 1.03 respectively, p<0.05). In this study, we used a non-invasive instrument to measure arterial stiffness and found that after adjusting for age, smoking, drinking and disease history, SBP and plasma glucose were the most significant factors associated with abnormal PWV among overweight Taiwanese men. |
