英文摘要

Brief therapy and eclectic therapy have been two of the important trends in modern psychotherapy. This article aims to propose a conceptual framework of the five stages of the therapeutic process, attempting to integrate the strengths of both approaches and revealing significant features at each of the five stages in order to reach the optimal effectiveness of therapy. The conceptual framework of Brief Eclectic Therapy (BET) centers on assisting psychotherapy professionals to conduct interventions effectively and efficiently. Implications of BET for clinical practice, education, and research were delineated. Key words: brief eclectic therapy
