程子以《大學》為「孔氏之遺書,而初學入德之門。」《大學》乃孔門的作品,曾子既承受孔門心法,作《大學》乃是他的心得記錄或是心聲迴響。本文擬嘗試闡述「大學之道,在明明德」的真義;從歷來學者的詮釋,理出其真理所在。大學是大人之學,即聖人之學。「惟天為大,惟堯則之」,效天法地是聖人之學,學大人,首先必明其根源,從天命之性開始去瞭解;憨山大師說「悟明自己的心體,便是明明德」;錢基博氏以自覺而悟自性真常解明明德;熊十力氏更以襌宗「自家無盡藏」釋明德。從此去理解,道在其中矣。 |
英文摘要 |
The philosopher Ch'ang-Tze says: “The Great Learning is a Book transmitted by the Confucian School, and forms the gate which first learners enter into virtue.” The Book is the work of Confucian School, Tzeng-Tze inherited the teaching of Confucius, and therefore the Great Learning is the record of Tzeng-tze’s mental reaction. The article would try to explain the meaning of “The Way of The Great Learning is to illustrate the illustrious virtue.” There are many interpretation of it. The author points out a lot of viewpoints to make clear the meaning. In conclusion, the author’s point is that if you want to be a great person you should first understand your own nature which man derives from Heaven. |
