歷來研究指出，蒙元時代漠視、否定中國文化、儒教，中原文化始終得不到尊崇。本書以武宗海山、仁宗愛育黎拔力八達、英宗碩德八刺三代(1308-1322)爲主，縝密、多元、系統地探究蒙元帝國的儒教保護政策，通過出版事業、文化政策等，研析蒙元時代試圖以傳統中國文化保護者之姿振興儒學、尊重中國文化，徹底改變了歷來將蒙古帝國視爲傳統中國文化破壞者的形象。本論文詳介各章旨趣，以期本書於今後台灣蒙元時代研究史方面能有所禆益。

The period during which the Yuan dynasty ruled China has been treated as a time of darkness when the country's traditional culture and society underwent a period of destructive change. By deploying a multifaceted analysis of a series of policies intended to protect Confucianism as well as publishing programs undertaken by the three successive Yuan dynasty emperors Wuzong, Renzong, and Yingzong, who ruled from 1308 to 1322, Publishing Culture during the Mongol Period overturns the conventional wisdom concerning the dynasty's rule of China with a compelling argument that the Yuan had high regard for Chinese culture and treated its institutions with respect. Based on my belief that the book can make a positive contribution to historical research into the Mongol period in Taiwan; 1 will endeavor in this paper to introduce the content of each of its chapters in detail.
