This study uses National Taiwan University of Arts (NTUA) male basketball team who participated 2007-2008 UBA basketball tournament (class-one, division-A) as the research subjects. We gather statistics of offense-defense performance (include: 2-point, 3-point, and free throw shooting percentages, offense and defense baskets, assist, steal, block, foul, turnover, team basket, and scores) of NTUA-team and its opponents in 15 games played in preliminary, quarterfinals, and finals. The performance evaluation (deficiencies only) was surveyed using three different perspectives, from experts, coaches, and players.
SPSS for Windows 12.0 software was further applied to process the gathered data for descriptive statistics, single-factor variable analysis, and mutual comparisons. Through this study, we draw the following conclusions:
1. The training program should pursue the fast-pace, volatile, tall, and speeding trend of game playing.
2. The training program should overcome the used deficiencies, and strengthen players' physical and mental training.
3. The training program should strengthen player's athlete spirit and ”Never Give Up” attitude.
