瑜珈為結合體位法、呼吸法及冥想的身心練習,對於處在高壓、忙碌的現代人具有舒緩身心壓力的效果;美國運動醫學學會(American College of Sports Medicine, ACSM)將瑜珈歸類為功能性體適能(Functional Physical Fitness)訓練方式,藉以提升柔軟度、平衡感及敏捷性,以避免發生跌倒之風險。此外,在臨床醫學領域,瑜珈近年也成為癌症、慢性疾病及心理疾病等之替代輔助療法(Complementary and Alternative Therapies)。先前的研究已證實瑜珈對懷孕婦女產前憂鬱、下背痛及骨盆疼痛具有改善效果;然而,孕期不適造成孕婦睡眠品質不佳的盛行率高達45.7%至76.3%,而睡眠困擾對母體、生產過程及胎兒可能造成不利的影響,但關於瑜珈對於孕婦睡眠品質之效益,目前的研究仍相對缺乏。因此,本文旨在探討瑜珈對懷孕婦女是否會造成睡眠品質的改變,藉由蒐集瑜珈介入對於懷孕婦女睡眠品質之效益的相關文獻,進行回顧與評論。依本文整理的相關文獻發現:瑜珈對懷孕婦女及不同族群之睡眠品質具有改善效益,亦有助於緩解孕婦生理上的疼痛及心理症狀。本文對未來研究方向提出以下建議:一、有關孕婦睡眠品質之研究對象需控制其懷孕產次;二、探討是否規律練習瑜珈的懷孕婦女整個懷孕期間之睡眠品質變化之長期追蹤研究。

英文摘要

Yoga is a mind-body practice which includes physical postures, breathe control and meditation. Yoga can help people to release pressure under busy works. American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) has classified yoga as functional physical fitness training, and yoga could help to enhance flexibility, improve balance and agility, finally to avoid falls. Additionally, yoga is used as complementary and alternative therapies for cancer, chronic and psychological diseases recently. Previous studies had demonstrated that yoga could improve depression, low back pain and pelvic pain during pregnancy. The prevalence estimates of poor sleep quality during pregnancy is from45.7% to76.3%, and sleep disturbance may be negative for maternal health, length of labor and fetal outcomes. However, there were few studies to investigate the effects of yoga on sleep quality during pregnancy. The purpose of this review article was to investigate effect of yoga on sleep quality in pregnant women by reviewing related studies about yoga and pregnancy. The review article suggested that yoga not only improves the sleep quality in pregnant women, but also alleviates physical discomforts and psychological symptoms during pregnancy. The goal of future studieswere suggested1) to investigate the effects of yoga on sleep quality in pregnant women by control the parity of research participants, and2)establish a follow up research thatis to studyeffect of regular yoga practitioners' sleep quality in all the pregnancy period.
