The aim of this study was to analyze and to construct the professional ability indicator of physical education teachers in universities. The methodology of this study was conducted by the analysis of literature review to realize the current situation and the required abilities of physical education teachers in universities. And according to 11 experts of Delphi technique, this study used SPSS statistical software to analysis the curriculum vitae of those experts, summarize the importance of each indicator, construct the professional ability indicators of physical education teachers in universities and also organize experts' judgments indicator in sequence. The result had shown three aspects of the professional ability indicator of physical education teachers in universities, all 31 indicators items contain with 17 indicators of teaching ability, 9 indicators of serving ability and 5 indicators of researching ability. Through indicator sort had shown that: About the indicator of teaching ability, teachers need to have a good work ethic, teaching ability of special techniques and professional course knowledge; 2. About the indicator of serving ability, teachers have to be able to plan school activities and competition, also they can cooperate and communicate with other coworkers; 3. About the indicator of researching ability, teachers should have independent researching ability. Conclusion: This study could be the reference for school as hiring physical education teachers in universities.
